### Lesson 11

## Introduction to Statistics## WelcomeStatistics is a very interesting field of mathematics that gives meaning to numbers. In Statistics, we learn ways of analyzing groups of numbers (data) to gain insight and draw conclusions. In this lesson, you will learn the basic skills needed to use the Statistics application to analyze data. ## Lesson Goals- To understand a histogram
- To understand a box-and-whisker diagram
- To be able to understand some statistical results
- To be able to fit a regression curve to data
## In Lesson 11 you will learn how to:- Input data
- Use Statistics to analyze your data
- Create a box-and-whisker diagram
- Draw a histogram
- Draw a normal distribution curve
- Draw scatter plots
- Fit a regression curve to data
## Upon completion of this lesson you will be able to answer the following questions:- What does the height of a histogram bar represent?
- What percentage of data is represented by a single whisker?
- What percentage of data is represented by the inner two boxes in a box-and-whisker diagram?
- What does the button open?
- Why would we want to fit a regression curve to data?
